Edge rules use IF and Function nodes to flag immediate critical events (privileged user activity outside business hours, mass deletion, unexpected IP ranges). For behavioral and statistical anomalies (sudden spike in failed logins, rare API calls), schedule BigQuery SQL jobs via n8n's BigQuery node, then parse results and raise incidents for non-zero matches.
When an anomaly is detected, branch the workflow to create an incident record and notify responders. Use Slack, Email, Microsoft Teams, or PagerDuty nodes to send context-rich alerts that include normalized event details, links to the raw S3 object or BigQuery row, suggested severity, and automated remediation playbooks.
