When applications come through LinkedIn, the volume and variability of resume formats make consistent, fast screening difficult — resulting in slow time-to-hire, missed matches, and recruiting backlogs.

By converting unstructured LinkedIn application content into structured records and applying repeatable scoring rules, teams can focus human effort on high-value interviews and decisions. Practical implementation notes: if LinkedIn exports applicants as CSV, use the HTTP Request node or Google Drive node to pull that CSV, then the CSV node to iterate rows. For email notifications, use the IMAP Email node with filters to pick messages from LinkedIn and extract attachments. Always include a Set node to normalize fields (name, email, phone, skills, experience_years) before scoring to keep downstream logic simple.

AI scoring and Google Sheets integration — practical steps

Scoring can be a single-step classification or multi-factor rubric. Use an OpenAI node (or other model endpoint) to extract a candidate summary and classify fit against the job description (e.g., match level: high/medium/low) or produce embeddings and compute cosine similarity to a job embedding for quantitative scoring. Combine model output with deterministic rules (years of experience, required skills present) in a Function node to produce a final numeric score and tags.

Store results in Google Sheets using the Google Sheets node: map fields like candidate_name, email, skills, score, model_summary, resume_link, and timestamp. Also use the Google Drive node to save the original resume and insert the shareable Drive URL into the sheet. Add a conditional branch that sends Slack notifications or updates an ATS (Greenhouse/Lever via HTTP Request) for scores above your threshold.
